AIRPORT FLIGHT INTERFACE
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
This project involves developing a user-friendly flight information display system for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, optimized for the iPhone 14 Pro. The primary goal is to create a clear typographic layout and effective information structure, improving the travel experience for both seasoned and novice travelers.
SKETCH IDEATION
In these sketches, I focused primarily on experimenting with the design of buttons and tiles, as well as the layout of the upper section of the flight screens.
TYPOGRAPHY EXPERIMENTATION
Only sans-serif typefaces were considered, as they're more readable on small iPhone screens. A clean typeface is essential for quickly scanning important information, like flight details. The one I went with was Inclusive Sans for its clearer numbers.
FLIGHT SCREEN ITERATIONS
After sketching a layout, selecting a typeface, and picking a palette, I began creating digital iterations in Figma. The variations range from minor adjustments to major layout shifts. The final iteration features a fixed header and footer to keep the camera lens from obstructing any flight tiles.
THUMBNAIL DEVELOPMENT
Designing a clear and organized expanded tile required multiple iterations. Ultimately, I decided to include expanded tiles only for flights with multiple airlines to avoid an overwhelming appearance.
LANDING PAGE ITERATIONS
Creating a landing page was one of the final assets I made, thus a limited number of iterations. The final iteration added faded geometric shapes based on the circle added to the ATL title.
INFO SCREEN ITERATIONS
Most of the info screen iterations maintain a similar hierarchy of information, with differences in style. The final two iterations adopt a cohesive aesthetic that aligns with the rest of the screens to improve overall unity.
DESIGN ELEMENTS
This includes the final colors, typefaces, type sizes, buttons, and tiles for the entire interface.

INTERACTIVE PROTOTYPE
A functional Figma interface that allows for easy scrolling through the flight screens.
